Account information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plain-text password).
Payment information: We do not store your credit card details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We receive only a confirmation of payment and a Stripe customer ID.
Quiz content: We store the quizzes you create, including questions, answer choices, and any images you upload.
Guest data: When guests take your quiz, we collect their name, optional email address, and quiz responses for the purpose of generating scores and leaderboards.
Usage data: We may collect basic usage information such as pages visited and actions taken within the Service to help us improve it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Display quiz results and leaderboards
- Send account-related communications (e.g. receipts, important notices)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Quiz Gumbo:
- Stripe — payment processing. Your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Railway — hosting and infrastructure. Your data is stored on Railway's servers.
- QR Server (api.qrserver.com) — generates QR codes for quiz URLs. No personal data is shared.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and quiz data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Guest quiz responses are retained as part of the quiz creator's account data.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
